A country wide, movement devoted to the featuring of ging
hams exclusively and designed to bring to the attention of the.
public the many advantages and uses of gingham as a dress fabric.
Co-operating in this big event, we have concentrated our efforts
and resources on an unusually beautiful and varied assortment of
Ginghams and smart, serviceable apparel fashioned from them.

"Omaha will get $100,000 more
money out of the Methodist Centen-
aiy campaign than she is asked to
give," said Dr. Clyde Clay Cissell,
who is the superintendent of the
Omaha district of the . Methodist
church.
"Through the last few months a
great campaign of education and
inspiration has been conducted in
our churches," Dr. Cissell continued.
'We have used a great amount of
literature and hundreds of tithing
stewards, unit leaders, life decisions
and intercessors have been enrolled
in Omaha churches."
Beginning May 18 and continuing
through to May 25, a great united
financial drive will be put on in the
Omaha Methodist churchef; the
work will be done by teams of so
licitors under captains and every
Methodist will have an opportunity
of making a weekly subscription
to the centenary program. The local
organizations are now 'being set
up in the churches and in a few days
the city campaign organization will
be completed, headquarters will be
opened and the work of the big cen
tenary drive will be on.
Omaha Quota $140,000. "
Omaha Methodist' churches are
asked to give $140,000 to the Meth
odist centenary program and in turn
the centenary campaign authorities
are under promise to give to 'the
work of Methodism in the city $240.
00, which will be paid into the
Omaha work in five yearly install
ment's. Of this amount $150,000 is to go
to the establishment of a great
v down-town mission and good will
institution which will carry on a
complete "Americanization" pro
gram among the various foreign
sneaking populations in the citv."
The aim in this work will be to
make "thorough-going American
citizens out of these foreign-speaking
folks. It may be that branches
this good-will institution will be
established in several parts of the
-city. Plans are being perfected to
open up this work in the very near
future and a branch of the work will
look after reconstruction work
among disabled soldiers, the gov
ernment helping with certain kinds
of machinery to enable these crip-
t pled soldiers to learn productive
trades.
Sixty thousand dollars will be giv
en to Omaha Methodism for church
buildings that are now under way,
or soon to be, while'$30,000 or more
wilt be set . aside for the salaries of
trained woman workers and pastors
among foreign-speaking population.

Firemen's Strike Ends.
Cincinnati, April 19. A settle
ment of the controversy between
city firemen, anil city officials was
effected late today when the fire
, men voted unanimously to accept
the termi of Mayor John Galvin,
under which the men will be re
