Prof. Clark's Lecture Is

" . Court.
Trof. S. H. Clark will give a keen
,; interpretation of the satire on the
' tvorkings of the London poli;e court,
- the abuse of power when hush
- money is used, and paint with start
ling clearness the conflict between
' the man who has the dollar and the
' man who has not, when he lectures
' on Galsworthy's "Silver Box" Thurs
. day at 4 p. m. at the Fontenelle un-
der the auspices of the Drama
'eague.
. While Prof. Clark gives no solu
.' tioa to the great, problem, accord
" ing to members of the league, he
,hopes to stir sympathy, which is
the first step toward the correction
v. of an evil.
In the portrayal of the police
s court scene, Prof. Clark, according
to reports, is at his best, bringing
f. out with biting clearness the case
" with which the family solicitor,
s backed by plenty of money, shields
his client and paints the circum
i stances around the prisoner so
black that the heavy sentence is
- imposed without a question in the
mind of the judge. And all the
-while the solicitor is aware of the
circumstances of the case .and the
; guilt of his client,
s The "Silver Box" presents one
of the modern day problems yet to
" be solved in almost every country.

Alkali in Soap
Bad for the Hair
, " Soap should be used very caref ul
1 ly if you want to keep your hair
looking its best. Most soaps and pre
pared shampoos contain too much
.lkali. This dries the scalp, makes
the hair brittle, and ruins it.
The best thing for steady use is
just ordinary mulsified cocoanut oil
(which is pure and preaseless), and
is better than the most expensive
soap or anything else you can use.
One or two teaspoonfuls will
cleanse the hfair and scalp thorough
ly. Simply moisten the hair with
water and rub it in. It makes an
abundance of rich, creamy lather,
which rinses out easily, removing
every particle of dust, dirt, dan
druff and excessive oiL The ' hair
dries quickly and evenly, and it
leaves the scalp soft, and the hair
fine and silky, bright, lustrous, fluf
fy and easy to manage.
You can get musified cocoanut
oil at any pharmacy, it's very cheap
, and a few ounces wil! supply every
member of the family for months.

Advice to the Lovelorn ,
Love Comes Unbidden and, "To Love or Not We Are
No More Free Than the Ripple to Rise and Leave

-By BEATRICE FAIRFAX
Modest Girls.
Dear Miss Fairfax, Omaha Bee:
We are two twins nearly the' same
age, being nearly 13 years old. We
read the advice to the lovelorn all
the time nearly. Pretty near al
ways we fight over lt. We think
some of the letters are awful Billy,
and we are glad that we aren't as
silly as some folks. We think you
are an awful nice person; of course,
we don't know you.
Our complexions aren't very good,
so we use paint sometimes. We
have two fellows (one each.) They
don't like to see paint on us and we
know they love us. , They ain't nev
er told us yet, but we know they
will. Now, Miss Fairfax, shall we
paint, and will ?e marry these fel
lows? We never went to school
much, so we ain't Bure whether we
are "in love" or not.. Please advise
us, dear Miss Fairfax. Folks tell
us we're awful pretty, but we know
we are not We are both hired
girls on the farm. With thanks and
love, JULIA and LIZZIE.
P. S. Please don't throw this in
the waste basket, because we are
anxious. t
The use of powder and paint is a
matter of personal choloe. Fortune
telling is for psychics, mediums and
trance specialists. It so happens
that I am none of these. School
doesn't teach the definition of love
it is too big a problem for human
mind to master, so we are obliged
to take It for granted. You are
more modest than many of my cor
respondents In describing' your ap
pearance. ' ,
Ten Years too Long.
Dear Miss Fairfax: We are con
stant readers of your advice and are
writing forthat purpose. We are
three young girls, one 27, one 28 and
one 30. We have each gone with a
fellow for the last 10 years, and we
would like to know why they don't
"pop the question." We are all three
considered good looking and are very
popular. We are very anxious to see
our letter in print. Sincerely,

Ten years is too long. They have

you may have better luck.
Of Course!
Dear Miss Fairfax, Omaha Bee:
I want to say for the one who signed
"Bayley Bayne" that there are men
who don't want flashy socks and ties,
and who do want a home in which
there Is a woman a woman the
kind she describes, although I didn't
think that kind of a woman lived
today. AH I can say is that I have
seen many hasty marriages very
successful, as I was a first lieuten

leased, and all my life, with few ex
ceptions, a farmer. Life is love
and love is life. Life is what we
make it. A FIRST LIEUTENANT.

Dear Miss Fairfax, Omaha Bee:
I Just wish to pen a few words in
answer to "Bayley Bayne's" letter in
today's Bee.
Say, girlie, I was sure surprised to
find that there is still some girls
like mother, you know, who likes a
home, a hubby and little ones better
than going out nights for well or
good times. But, B. B., you need
not think for one minute that those
girls who fly from one gay affair to
another ever awaken pure, everlast
ing love in any true man's heart.
But, little lonesome one, you were
looking for a male specimen that

Dear Miss Fairfax, Omaha Bee:
I Just finished reading your advice
in this morning's Bee and have de
cided to come to you for advice for
myself. Though not a serious one,
this is my case:
I am a young man nearly of age
and am going with the best girl in
central Nebraska, a few months my
junior. I think my love and respect
for her are as great as possible, and
although she has never committed
herself plainly, her words and ac
tions show that my love is recipro
cated. She Is thinking of taking a
course in school which will take her
seven years to complete. Can a
courtship of love last seven years
and be a success? Would lt be
right to ask her to change her plans?
I surely do not like the idea of bach
jng for seven years and hunting an
other girl is out of the question.
Would not do that if I were to wait
for twice the seven years.

Scratching the head can become such a habit that it
singles you out as undesirable company. In addition,
you are exposing a raw surf ace continually to the chance
of infection, as your finger nails are apt to carry danger
ous micro-organisms to the irritated spot with results that
may prove serious. Get rid of that desire to scratch by
using Resinol Ointment. Its healing and soothing med-.
icau'on brings quick relief, and in a short time, generally
clears away the trouble entirely. Dandruff, loss of hair,
and other scalp troubles quickly yield to its curative
powers.
NOTICE
There are but three reasons
why your letters do not appear
in printbecause they are too
long (more than 200 words), be
cause you do not send your cor
rect address as a postscript or
because they are not suitable for
publication.
Rachael waa as young and beautiful
and attractive by the time Jacob got
her. Therefore, I cannot ' reebm
mend any seven year waits. There
is not one in 10 of the long engage
ments that result in happy, mar
riages. Why not "marry and permit
her to go on with her plans? Why
should marriage be a yoke to a girl's
ambitions? Many women give up
everything else In life for marriage
and the kitchen therein lies the se
cret of their unhappiness. A girl Is
legally of age at 18. A father may
not collect her wages without her
consent . .
Stenogs Probably the girl would
be glad to go to the theaters, too, if
you would ask her and Introduce
her to some of your friends. t Of
course he would not tell you lt was
because she knew no men in the
city. You wouldn't yourself. .
Blue F.yea You had better stay
away from such dances as you de
scribe. Don't do it because your
friend insists, if you wish, but be
cause lt is far better for yourself.
Yes, I think 16 is young.
June Bird Your weight depends
upon your height. If you did not
love the man, of course you did
right in telling him. Is it a sign of
up-to-dateness to flirt? Act like
yourself and if you're not stuck up
nor yet a flirt, they will have to seek
some other name. Many are mar
ried at 17, but can't you wait a few
years. , . -

' KEEP THE SCALP CLEANSED
Resinol Soap is admirably suitable
for cleansing the scalp and hair. It
contains in a modified form the same
Resinol medication that is embodied in
the ointment. It is especially pure, and
of rare quality, free from harsh, drying
alkali, and excellent at all times for
general toilet use or for the treatment
of complexion troubles. Its joint use
with the ointment seldom fails to clear
away pimples, blackheads and abra
