turned a few days ago from a trip
to Europe as guest of the British
government:
'1 have just returned after 10
weeks' absence in Europe, where,
with some other American news
paper men, I was a guest of the
British government.
We visited England, France,
Belgium, Scotland .and Ireland.
I was much surprised and
pleased, in looking at a store win
dow in Glasgow, to see that they
had a good sized window fitted
up with Skinner's macaroni. I
thought this might be of interest
to you.
Very Successful Year.
"While this present year has beett
an unsettled one and. the output of
the plant for several months was re-
stricted by the, government, never
theless, taking it altogether, the
company lias had a very successful
year and it is plain that the business
will increase tremendously in 1919
and the years following," said Mr.
Skinner. '
"In addition to the tremendoui '
domestic business of the United
State there is a large field fo ex
port business, inquiries coming in
from all parts of Europe and South
America."
The addition wilt be 132 feet
square and the heighth of the pre-'"
sent factory and will be used for
storage and manufacturing purposes,
of re-enforced concrete and steel
.construction entirely firjeproof. A
large battery of new hydraulic mac
aroni presses will be installed. There
will also be installed a complete
new cut goods department with a
battery of horizontal hydraulic iut
goods presses, together with all au-i
tomatic machinery' carrying the cut

floors.

Word has been received in Oma ."
ma of the death of John Richard
McCaig in the hospital on the Avia
tion field, Minneola, Long Island,
following an operation for appendi
citis, age 25 years. Mr. McCaig ,
was a graduate of Franklin school,
and enlisted in the aviation section V
of the armyast December. He was
sent to San Antonio and from ,
there to Minneola, where he has
been since February. ' '
He is survived by two sisters;
Misses Irene and Imogene McCaig
of Omaha and one brother, H. T. .
McCaig of Des Moines, la. Funeral
arrangements have not been made.
