that the deceased came to her death
through an unavoidable accident.
Mrs. Senf was killed last Thursday
afternoon, while crossing the inter
section of Thirteenth street and
Garfield avenue. She was struck
by a motorcycle driven by Thomas
C. Holmes. The evidence showed
that the woman rushed from the
rear of a covered delivery wagon
and did not observe the motorcycle.
Marine Losses Less Than
Two-Thirds of Premiums
Washington, Oct. 26. Despite
the government's low marine insur
ance rate and the losses suffered
through the submarine raids off the
American coast, less than two
thirds of the premiums paid to the
marine section of the war risk in
surance bureau have -gone to pay
losses.

port that between September 2,
1914, when the bureau was organ
ized and October 15, 1918. $1,846,
W.000 insurance was written on
ships and their cargoes, mainly
those passing through the war zone,
involving premium payments on
24.9W policies of $45,825,000 and
that losses were $29,775,000.
