BOTH REPLIES
TO BULGARIAN
ARMISTICE PLEfc
Can Be No Suspension of Mili
tary Operations and Bul
garia Must Break with
Germany.
London Sept. 28 Great Britain
has replied to th,e Bulgarian request
for an armistice. The reply, it is
stated, is fully covered by the an
swer given the Bulgarian reprcs
tatives by the commander of the
allied army on the Macedonian
front. By this reply it is perfectly
well defined that no military oper
ations can be suspended.
At the same time regarding the
proposal that duly accredited Bul
garian representatives should con
fer with the allies on the question
of peace, it has been made qui
clear to the bona government that
such a peace- necessarily involves a
complete rupture by the Bulgarian
government with Turkey, Germany
and Austria-Hungary.
Guarantees Required.
The aliied governments necessarily
demand every guarantee which they
consider necessary to them ot safe
guard their military operations and
prevent the dispatch of German
troops to Bulgaria.
In discussing the Bulgarian pro
posal, it is pointed out the allies
have no intention of attempting to
make a final territorial settlement
in the Balkans, which obviously
must be a mattery for considera
tion at the peace conference.
The question, it is stated, is one
of the conclusions of such a mili
tary agreement as would prevent
any further danger from the Bul
garian side to the operations of the
allies in the Balkans.
If the terms laid down, which
have been dispacthed to Stffia, are
not acceptable to the Malinoff gov
ernment, the allied powers, it is ad
ded have no further conditions to
propose and it will rest with Bul
garia to find other representatives
who can accept these conditions.
