HORT CUTS are necessary now, espe
cially "short cuts" which really enable
us to accomplish more in a given length of time.
The modern Truck and Tractor are the "short
cuts" in transportation and increased production.
rT1RUCKS are being used everywhere by progressive merchants and farmers to
relieve railroads and express companies, to expedite deliveries, to extend hauling
areas and to save time. The time alone which the modern Truck saves adds, at a
conservative estimate, 50 per cent to the working day.
rpRACTORS, too, are enabling farmers to meet the labor shortage problem.
Think of pulling three 18-inch plows for 24 hours at a time. Compare this
with horse power. It takes from two to four horses to pull one 18-inch plow and
six hours of this work is a hard day's work for the average horse. Plowing is only
one of the numerous farm tasks which the Tractor will perform. There is hardly
a farm labor requiring power in which the Tractor cannot be utilized.
THINK OF THE SA VING OF TIME
Just look at it from a standpoint of time. If a truck wilL enable hauling in one day what ordinarily takes 3
days with a team, and a tractor will pull three plows where horses pull but one is it a paying investment?
Comparisons such as mentioned are not theories; they are PROVEN FACTS. You can find evidences of it
in your own neighborhood if you will make inquiries.
