In Corn. Th oat market closed firm, 1 to 7c
net higher, with August 71 071 So.
Corn gained to lVto net and finished un
settled with August $1.64 to $1.54 and
Saptember $1.56 to $1.65K. The outcome
In provisions was a rise of 7010c to 8O0.
Dry weather reports from the Canadian
northwest dominated the oats market and
mora than offset favorable weather con
ditions on this side of the International
Una. Th fact that houses with northwest
ern connections were aotlve buyers tended
to emphasize assertions that tne janaoian
had begun to show to a material extent
the effects of a lack of moisture. In this
connsotlon renewed notice was taken of
reoent vessel charters to carry 1.600,000
bushels of eats from Chicago to ports on
th. rsanrrlan hay. Another bullish factor
was gossip current that the Canadian gov
ernment price for wneai soon wom u
raised to $2.16. a Jump of (0 a bushel.

-.r.n.th finally abi orbed the entire sur-

cently passed by , the house, was
passed late today by the senate with
out amendment or a roll call. It now

government's requirements this fiscal
year are estimated about $24,000,000,
000 but that this might have to be
increased. -
Senators Smoot of Utah and Mc
Cumber of North Dakota, said the
measure should authorize ?1Z,000,0(X).. '
000 additional bonds, while Senatoi
Smoot declared that the country's

enough to cause actual expenditure '
this year of $24,000,000,000., :
