Show Appreciation of
Work of The Bee
' From the Red Cross
It has been my pleasure to reside
in this community about 20 years, dur
ing which period I have endeavored
to assist in many public enterprises,
the j success of which has depended
largely upon the co-operation of the
newspapers. At all times 'I have
found The Omaha Bee under your
"' able management ready and willing to
' support evCry patriotic movement and
enterprises' that have been for the
henefit and upbuilding of tins com
munity.' . -
Ijti this connection I especially wish
to thank you for the excellent assist
- " ance and support you have rendered
the Nebraska State Red Cross office.
There is no state in fhe union with
a better record in all departments of
Re,d Cross activities than Nebraska,
and you have assisted us greatly in
producing the results attained, not
.only through the liberal use of space
in your newspaper, but also assistance
that has' been rendered by you per

I congratulate you upon the cele
bration of your 25th anniversary with
The Omaha Bee. Few newspapers in
cities of the middle vest have reached
the age of The Bee, and comparatively
few of the editors' of those papers
ha e been associated with them for a
quarter of a fcentury.
The Omaha Bee has, from the time
it started, been an important factor
in pushing the development of Oma

mate enterprise or institution has, had
its support and encouragement.
The Bee has also wielded a power-

Great Value to Omaha
I understand it has been about
twenty-five years since you assumed
the editorship of The Bee. It is fair
to say that as far as my knowledge
goes, during that time you have con
ducted The Bee in a way that has
commended it to the good people of
this city and state, v
I think the paper liars been of
great value to Omaha. The banking
interests, so far as I know, have al
ways been cared for in a dignified
manner, and not only the banking in
terests of the city and state, but also
the other business interests of Omar
ha and Nebraska. I wish, as presi
dent of the Omaha clearing house
and Omaha National bank, to com
mend you and your paper.
President Omaha Clearing House.
(Continued on Tug Htvtn. )
Mr. Rosevvater and The Bee have
been of great assistance to the Oma
ha Woman's club in promoting the
civic betterment movements under
taken by our women, and in many
other ways. The publicity given to
club doings has extended the limits
of our club sphere to all women read

It is wonderful what The Bee has
done for the league ever since the
organisation of cur work. Wre have
never asked anything of the paper
which it has not done for us. They
give our items good space, where they
can easily be found. I can not find
words to voice my apperciation.

The work which the newspapers
have done in featuring the various
war activities, and more especially
the work, of war savings, is entitled
to recognition and deserves the ap
preciation of all patriotic citizens.
The patriotism displayed by the
men in charge of our newspapers is
very commendable. Knowing the in
fluence that the newspapers have in
molding public sentiment, makes the
service rendered that much more
Valuable.
On behalf of the war savings com
mittee, I extend to The Bee our
cordial thanks, both for the work al
ready, done and for the assistance I
feci sure will be given in our future
work, especially in connection with our
June 28 drive for the organization of
war savings societies, and as an ex
pression of this appreciation, I am
sending this letter, though it can but
poorly express our gratitude for the
service rendered to war savings by
your paper-

"Hearty and Active"
I want to congratulate you on the
twenty-fifth anniversary of your con
nection with The Omaha Bee as edit
or. I especially want to take this
occasion to express my appreciation
of your cordial support of the many
public enterprises with which I. have
been connected during this active
and interesting period. The latest
evidence of this support has been
your, active co-operafion in connec
tion with the work of the food ad
ministration. The newspapers of this
state and city, and especially The
Omaha Bee. have brought to the food
administration in Nebraska words of
commendation on numerous oc
casions from Mr. Hoover himself. I
acknowledge to you a debt of grati
tude for your hearty and active sup
port of the food administration of
Nebraska.
MR. VICTOR ROSEWATER:
Permit me to congratulate you on
your completion of a quarter of a cen
tury's service with The Bee.
We all acknowledge you, with one
exception, the best editor The Bee has
ever had.
May you continue to grow and pros
Der until you fill the "boots" completely.

"Better Than Any Other"
" . The Bee is always perfectly splen
did to us. Our bank account shows
the effect. The Bee stands by the
Associated Charities better than any
other Omaha paper. JWhen we ask for
favors The Bee is always courteous,
more than generous and they won't
print a story unless it is true. The
Bee has done such wonderful things
for us at Christmas time. I hope it
will continue, because the need will
be greater than ever.
