CHICAGO GRAIN AND PROVISIONS
Weather Conditions Send Cora Prices
Higher.
Chicago, June 17. Corn prices went soar
ing again today, Impelled by record-breaking
heat In the west. Advances, however,
were not well maintained.
The market closed nervous, He to lc
net higher, with July $1.46 to $1.45 and
August $1.47. Oats finished c to lHc
up. Provisions rose 26c to $1.
Especially during the first part of the
session buying was on a broad scale and
offerings relatively scarce. Absence of any
Intimation that actual damage had resulted
from the intense heat tended to unsettle
sentiment in the later dealings.
Fears of crop damage in the southwest
counted as a factor on the bull side of the
oats market.
Provisions ascended with grains and hogs.
