The academic procession, headed by

degrees by the deans of the several

Chief Justice Andrew M. Morrissey
of the supreme court of Nebraska ad
ministered the oath of llegiance to
the federal and state constitutions to

"Great problems await solution in
this country. One is that of the
proper relation of capital and labor.
Anotjier is the inculcation of a proper

third important problem is the repres
sion of the spirit of hatred which
stalks through the land in the person
of men ;who are seeking to subvert
our institutions.
"Our, great need at once is for
itrong'ttien to solve these problems,
not for' timorous politicians who al
ways have an eye on possible votes
after the war. It is the duty of our
American universities to furnish these
itrong men."
