PESEK TO MEET CHARLIE PETERS HERE ON JULY 4 Jack lewis Cards Contest Be "'tween Two Nebraska Grap'-. piers for Independence Day Show. John Pesek of Shelton, Nebraska's newest sensation in the field of wrestling, and Charlie Peters', of Papillion, will clash in a finish wrestling match in Omaha July 4. This is the announcement made last night by Jack Lewis, manager of Charlie Peters. Lewis also will pro mote the match. It will be staged at Rourke park, Lewis says. The' Lewis announcement, comes like a bolt of lightning from a clear ikv. -That a Pesek-Peters match might be held in Omaha July 4 was given no thought by Omaha wrestling fans. Lewis admits plans for the match were made in a hurry. What effect the scheduling of the Pesek-Peters match may have upon the proposed championship clash be tween Earl Caddock and joe Stecher is not known. For several weeks this latter match has been in the making with July 4, the date named arid Oma Jia the place favored. "A Pesek-Peters match for Omaha July 4 was suggested to me 'three months ago," declared Jack Lewis last night in announcing the event. "At that time it was generally' con ceded Caddock and Stecher would meet here July 4. So I let the matter drop. But when it became evident Caddock and Stecher might not be matched for Omaha July 4 1 got 'in touch with Mart Slattery, Pesek's manager, and made the match. I am confident it will be a headline attrac tion and it will not be at $10 prices either; it will be at popular prices of $1 to $3, no bjgher. Chicago, May 30. Chicago by de feating Cincinnati, 2 to 1, in the aft ernoon game broke even on the holi day bill today, the visitors having won the morning contest, 9 to 6. The work of Jim Vaughn was the deciding, factor in the afternon game. His pitching was superb. He struck out' 12 batsmen and allowed only six hits. His three-base hit which pre ceded a triple by Flack scored the winning run. The game was marked by an assault on Catcher Killefer by outfielder Earl Neale. Bressler, in the seventh in ning, hit a little pop up in front of the plate. Killefer tried for the ball, but missed it, and it went foul. Neale, who was coming up to bat, claimed it a fair ball, and said that Killefer touched it before it went foul. Words were 'exchanged between the players and Neale attacked the catcher, threw him to the ground and then hit him in the face several times. Killefer tried to get on his feet, but staggered and had to leave the game. Neale was led off the field by umpire Rigler. Score, first game: CINCINNATI. CHICAGO. AB.H.O.A.E. AB.H.O.A.B.
