THE OMAHA SUNDAY BEE: APRIL 21, 1918.
CHEERFULNESS
s - IS THE ORDER OF
KING AK-SAR BEN
No Cessation in Merry-Making
This Year; Plans Under
Way for Record
Season.
la accordance with the mandate of
His Majesty, King Ak-Sar-Ben, there
s to be no cessation m the. merry
making this year throughout his
" realm. "While His Majesty deems jt
necessary for everyone to realize the
serious situation which confronts the
nation, he orders that his subjects
do all in their power to relieve the
suffering and heartaches by putting
on a cheerful front," is the decree.
Plans for one of the most stupen-
, dous years in the history of Ak-sar-Ben
are already under way and the
pageants and fall programs are to
exceed even the "wildest dreams" of
the artisans of former years.
Gue Renze is chief of the den, as
in former years, and his plans for the
big show, which will open June 3,
- are rapidly materializing. "Songsters"
' ,are most needed by the director at
the present time and he urges that
all men having "the least semblance
of a voice" send in their, initial fee
sf 10 bucks and report to him at the
oen.
New Members Respond.
"Dan" Weaver, Samson's "right
hand man," reports that business is
good at headquarters and 579 mem-
bers have already been listed on his
books.
Wednesday noon a meeting of the
hustling committees will be held at
the Paxton hotel and every man who
will attend is requested to teleohon?
y "Dad" in advance so that his lunch
can be ordered.
Flans for the organization of the
committees and the method to be
pursued in their work will be out
lined and definite course of action
will be prescribed.

For to disregard home and ka well
