for the best, this being the top price for

day, there being a limited number reported,

STUDENTS PUT
ON ROAD SHOW
The fourth annual road show jpf
the Central High school was staged
Friday afternoon and evening at, the
high school auditorium and. will be re
peated tonight.
"The Most Wonderful Girl in the
World" is the title of the headliner,
written by Barton Kuhhs and drama
tized by Miss Alice Dean. The play
ette was the winner of , the contest for
an original play on a patriotic theme.
The part that Central High has
played in helping Uncle Sam in the
war was illustrated by Peter Kiewit,

the five orphans adopted by ths
school.
The play was coached by Miss
Emily Rough.

Norton werethe chief performers,
brought much applause. A quartet
composed of Floyd Paynter, Eugene
Maxwell, Raymond Sage and Van
Morris sang.
Between acts the following named
girls appeared in costumes of the
countries at war with Germany:
Winifred Brandt, the Spirit of De
mocracy; Josephine Marple, Serbia;
Esther Oney, Belgium; Helen Sin
clair, France; Ann Newman, Eng
land; Anna Porter, Italy; Flora Shu
kert, Japan; Helen Vancura, Colum
bia. Miss Winifred Brandt as the
Spirit of Democracy recited a poem
written by Miss Anna Porter.
Walter Byrnes Run Over by
Auto, But-Not Badly Hurt
Walter Byrnes, 13 years old, of
Benson Acres, while riding a bicycla
north on Twenty-sixth avenue, col
lided with Xind was run over by an
automobile driven by G. W. Sowards
who was driving on Dodge street.
Byrnes was not seriously injured.
According to Soward the boV was
coasting down Twenty-sixth street
and attempted to make a quick turn
at Dodge. The machine passed over
the boy's abdomen, right leg and left
arm. He was taken to the home ot
W. H. Weiding where Drj J. 9
Langdon was summoned. The doct
reported no bones broken.
