THE BEE: OMAHA, TUESDAY, MARCH 12, 1918. BAN! ( DEPOSITS IN OMAHA MAKE GREAT INCREASE ' Comptroller's Call Shows 5 Gain of $33,000,000 in Three ' Months and $14,000, ; 000 in Year. ' Bank deposits in Omaha have in creased by $38,000,000 in the last three 'months, and $14,000,000 over a year ago at this time. These facts are shows by bank statements issued Monday morning in accordance with a call from the national comptroller of currency for reports it the close of buttress March 4. Loans have increased $5,000,000 in the last three months and $6,000,000 in the last year. ,. 1 he deposits - have been greatly swelled . over the figures of three months ago on account of .the heavy sale of farms and similar transfers March 1, which always bring in large volumes of money. .The increase of $14,000,000 in deposits over a year ago is attributed, largely to the general prosperity and the high prices paid for agricultural (products in this ag ricultural center:. Anticipate Liberty Loan. Loans do not show a proportion ate increase, but this ,is attributed largely to the anticipation of the com ing issue of Liberty bonds, of which the banks will take large blocks.
