100 BUSHELS OF POTATOES TO THE
ACltB, SOLD AT 31 PER BUSHEL,
EQUAL 3100 PER ACRE RETURNS,
I can show you anywhere, right up
here In good old northwest Nebraska
where, even in the year 1917, one, and a
half million bushels of potatoea were
raised. County averages run as high, as
from 80 to 125 bushels to the acre. A
good farmer who tends his potatoes well,
who prepares bis ground well, many times
raises 300 to 260 bushels to the acre.
Right today, I ran offer you thla potato
land at from. 320 to 390 per acre. From
31,500 to 13.009 will make you a first
payment. . Many of you. I know, have
sufficient money for a first payment . Why
will you. hold back? I could show you
yields of from 15 to 60 bushels of wheat
to the acre. The government price la
33.15. Isn't this good enough? Whit

Write me tor my list of descriptions,
pictures and prices. Do It right away and
shape your affairs to get here before
April 1. -You should be on the ground
and ready to go to work by April 1. The
United States must raise an enormous
crop In 1918. Wt do not expect responses
to this appeal from pro-Germans and
German sympathisers, but we do expect
the loyal American cltlsens, every mother's
son of you, to get busy and help to produce
abumper crop In the United States this
, year. Every man from President Wilson
down who has anything to do with this
war and tha running of it will tell you
that you can not do better to help them
than to be producer of food. Locate,
and get) In a crop. However, I think you
would (o better for yourself and family,
to come to northwestern Nebraska. The
east la overcrowded now. Many of you
are shut up on little 80 acre tracta when
you are big enough to handle much more.
Lrt aome of those fellows down eaat double
up and take oa two 80 acre tracta, leaving
one man to come weat, and open up new
virgin aoil and put ground to producing
that has never produced before. That la
" the way to Increase production. I have
lands in Dawes, Sioux and Bo Butte
counties and, lot me say to you, ny dear
reader, that some of the most productive
soil In all the west, Is located in these
counties. It 1s the home of opportnulty
the Garden of Eden, for the man of small
capital who Is seeking a foot hold. I will
lend you ever aaslstanee In my power. If
you are short on homes, I will sell you
horses on time, If you are short on
. machinery, I will stake you to that, if you
get more broke out than you have money
to buy seed for, don't worry, I'll tend to
the aeed you furnish 'the man power and
I will come to your rescue on all other
lines.
Many others throughout the east, I am
sure, will do the same. There Is certainly
no excuse for you, no point behind which
you can hide. - If you don't become a
producer right now, there la somsthlag
wrong with your upper story and you
need to be Investigated. You are not
being asked to work for only 230 per
month as ara ths boys over In the
trenches, you ars not being asked to
hasard your life, but you are merely
being asked to exercise that muscle of
yours and to work ten hours a day
helping Our nation to supply the food and,
in return, your nation ia offering you
such prices as will, with any kind of crop
years at all, make your place, If bought
up In northwest Nebraska at the prices
that we are atJne present offering, pay
for Itself every year If yu will but put it
under cultivation, and tend the crop. If
you don't respond; then there' Is 'certainly
something wrong. ,
Our country up here Is true and tried
and you should have no prejudice against
. It However, If you have, if you can frame
up some excuse against my uountry here,
aa an excuse for not Joining the army of
producers, there Is certainly other sections
whore you can become a produoer Just the
same and, you certainly can't be prejudiced
against them-all. I will - lend you. a
helping hand-In any way I can, and once
a client of mine always' a client, In the
10 years I hjVs been, in the .business here,
I have handled hundreds: and' hundreds of

mortgage. Dosen'tj lhat- spell something?
Will you respond in this hour of need?
Write mo today for my descriptions,
plotures and prices. . Don't be too hard to
please. Come and take -what, you can'
' handle. Anyone of them that I will offer
you I'll warrant beats what you now have,
Usually the. man with the leaat money Is
the hardest to please. Yon could come

choose anything I offered you and - it
would make you money.' Tf this be true,
why should you be so hard to pleaset-

Any 160 acres that I will offer you,-will
raise enouirh to feed not only your own

besides for a whole year. - The only re.
' qulrements are that youVtlll the toll and
till It right, that you put In your time on
your, farm instead of on the streets of the
town. This Is plain talk; but, 1 would
rather talk to. you. plain . and, have you
stay- away, than to have you come here
and be. a failure. ' This Is not the country
. wheVa you. can live. . without . working.
That country doesn't' come until the here-
after. However, this ,1s a-country, where
you can live as wen ana reap more prous
and more- benefit from your work' than

Chicago, III., March 11. Liberal receipts '
did a good deal today to weaken the corn
market, especially cash quotations, and so
too did with, dra wal of export bids. Fa

'Arrivals of corn In Chicago alone aggre
gated 815 ears and there waa a general dla- ,
position to look for a continued movement
far above the average for this time of the
year. Meanwhile the United State visible '
upply total showed an Increase of more
than 2,800,000 bushels, making the amount'
In. sight only 1,400,000 bushels less than a
yekr ago. - ' f--i
'Absence of export demand was ascribed'
to the faot that. recent urgent buying had
besrt to get all the 'oorn possible by March
10, In order to fill vessel room contracted for..
A general embargo oa shipments to eastern-.'
domestlo consumers counted further as a
bearish Influence -
Notable progress of seeding made oat f
average lower. A little export business gaVe
the market some stimulus, but the effect
failed to last , - .
Lower quotations on hogs weakened pro"-'
visions. Declines were checked somewhat"
though by export of lard and meats during
