Norfolk Man Aroused to
High Pitch of Patriotism
Norfolk, Jan. 6. (Special Tele
gram.) Two hundred representative
Norfolk men were aroused to a high
pitch of patriotism at the annual
meeting of the Norfolk Commercial
club last night by addresses show
ing that business and patriotic duties
were so uniquely intermingling in this
part of the state as to make all con
ditions of life ideal. Among those
who delivered addresses were Captain
Glenn Willey, who is visiting here
from Camp Cody; E. R. Gury of Fun
ston, and Charles H. Stewart of Nor
folk. President F. D. Wolt, W. F.
Hall and Ralph Finley .were elected
members of the board of directors.
The club adopted a new constitution
and set of by-laws.

not under 19 or over.,30; non-flying
gas engineers, ages not under 19 or
over 30; supply officers and adjutants,
ages not under 31 or over 36.
Germans Execute Dutch
On Espionage Charge
Amsterdam, Jan. 6. Twenty-two
persons, among them four from
Antwerp, eight from Ghent and a
Dutch skipper, were executed by
the Germans at Ghent for alleged
espionage, according to Tele
graaf's correspondent. Three other
Hollanders were condemned to
three, four and 10 years' imprison
ment, respectively. A large number
of Belgians also received long terms
of imprisonment and others are in
carcerated at Ghent awaiting trial.
