Coulter lias lieen granted a decree of divorce from Dr. Frank p.. Coulter, prominent Omaha nerve and mental disease specialist, who is also connected with the faculty of the University of Nebraska Col lege of Medicine at Omaha. Dr. Coulter is ordered to pay $3,500 alimony and to convey to Mrs. Coulter, the house and lot at 309 Noth Forty-first street, in Poppleton park, including all houscUpld furnish ings therein. Among the articles designated is a large and valuable oil painting purchased some time ago at Whitmore's art gallery. ' Prominent in Society. For the education and maintenance i their 9-year-old son, William John Coulter, Mrs. Coulter is awarded $45 a month until the boy attains 'the age of 21. In case the plaintiff marries again the amount is reduced to $25. Dr. and Mrs. Coulter, who have been prominent in Omaha society, were married in Minnesota "in July 1907. The divorce decree was granted by Judge Leslie, November 7. At torneys Dunham and Aye for Mrs. Coulter witheld the decree from the district court files until the present time. iHoyt Says He Has First Three-Cent Stamped Envelope R. C. Hoyt,( clerk of the federal court, believes he has the first stamped 3-cent envelope to pass through the United States mails under the war tax act raising postage to 2 cents. Mr. lloyt is a stamp collector. Among his collection he had a 3-cent unused stamped enveloped of the issue used prior to 1882, when 2-cent postage was introduced. He sent this envel ope to a friend in Wyoming with in structions to ntail it to him. It-came through the mails duly postmarked and Mr. lloyt has added it to his collection with the statement that it is the first 3-cent stamped envelope to pass through the mails under the 3-cent postage rate of 1917. 1 Letters sent to points in the same city cost but 2 cents. Persistent Advertising Is the Road o bucccss. Omaha is still a harbor for auto mobile thieves, as is noted by the fact I that six cars were stolen in a short space of time last night. J. D. Reed, 2033 Howard street, and M. F. Lienard, 509 South Twenty ninth street, reported to the police that their cars were takiMi from in front of their homes. The car be longing to the latter was later recov ered at Thirty-first and Dorcas streets, where it had been left standing by the thief. An automobile belonging to John Gibson, Wahoo, Neb., was taken from in front of the Clarkson hospital, and another belonging to K. C. Gethchcr, 806 South Fifteenth street, was stolen from in front of the Labor temple. W. F. Hump;.!, 3705 South Twenty third street, and 1- Kronstadt, 3030 California street, reported to the po lice that their cars, which they left standing on downtown street park ings, wer also stolen. Police are conducting a systematic search for the stolen cars and are making diligent investigations to ward the apprehension of the thitves. Armenian Committee To Ask Monthly Pledges The Omaha nmittce for Arme nian and Syrian relief will begin "un day a pledge campaign, the intentions of the committee being to secure sub- scriptjons, payable monthly, in order i to create a sustaining fund. The ministers of Jmaha have heartily endorsed the movement and on Sunday will make the announce ment that three days November 18, 19 and 20 have been set aside as a period for intensive soliciting. Com mittees from every congregation will be appointed to carry the plan into effect. Mrs. John C. Wharton, 818 Omaha National ttank building, will receive all donations, any size he'm welcome. Interesting Reunion Held By Fremont Normal Alumni A reunion of former" students of the Fremont Normal school was held Friday at the l'axton hotcL State Su perintendent Clemmons, formerly president of the institution, presided and about 200 ex-students, mostly teachers now, filled the parlors oi the l'axton . which were turned ovef to them. Two Grocery Stores Ransacked by Thieves Two grocery stores were broken, into and ransacked last night and quantities of provisions were taken from each. T. II. Rickard's grocery at Fifty eighth and Center streets was entered via the, front window. Ten dollars ahd 40 cents in money was secured and provisions valued at $400 were taken. The H. Q Schnauber store at 1906 Nprth Twcntyfourth street was en tered by way of the back window. The glass was shattered. Six strips of bacon and several hams was the loss Mr( Schnauber reported to the police. Old Corn Bfmgs High Pr(ce on Omaha Market Omaha prices on old corn were 4 to 5 cents up, selling at $2.12 and $2.15 a bushel. New corn was not in good demand, owing to the arrivals being too full of moisture. Prices were $1.18 and $1.45 a bushel, but whether up or down could not be determined, as there was no way of making com parisons. Receipts were 23 carloads. Oats were a cent tip, selling at 60 cents and 61 cents a bushel. The re ceipts were 56 carloads. Wheat re ceipts were 23 carloads.
