Cattle On of the MKgcat Friday cat
tie runs of the sesaon xvns here today, and
as demsnd was not so good it has been,
trade was slow and easier It anything on
all kinds. Only a fow bunrhea of dealrable
cattle were on offer, bulk of the supply
being made up of plain kinds of stuff. On
the decent to best klmla of range beeves
there has been an advance ttiln week of
around 31 0(0 cnta, and desirable feeders
how a similar upturn. Common steers of
all kinds are slow, especially the light
thin stock cattle for which there la almost
no demand. Strictly choice cows allow
60 cent upturn and the medium to good
klnda ef cows and heifers are around low
it cents higher, Improvement having been
noted In all cattle that sold at i7.no or net
ter a week ago. Canners and cutters have
been slow, and are If anything a little low
er for the week. Stork cows and heifers
have been In rather slack demand and are
no better than stesdy with last week's big
decline.

New York, Oct. 26. The Irregular course
of today's dull stork market Indicated sa
much as anything a division of speculative
sentiment, based. In all probability, on the
recent growth of the short Interest.
Pressure against rails relaxed somewhat,
but not before liquidation had sent standard
shares, notably Canadian Paclflo and North
ern Pacific, 1 to 3 points under the mini
mums of several years and prompted fresh
liquidation of Union Paclflo, Pennsylvania
and Reading.
Substantial buying of these storks soon
effected a marked resdjustment, after which
aggressive bear drives were msde sgalnst
the less active equipments and utilities.
General Electric made an extreme decline of
6S points, Western Union 2U and American
Telephone 1 .
Stoels reflected the uncertain trend, mov
Ing within 1 to 3-polnt limits, but hardened
later with rails. United States Steel closed
at 104, a net gain of of a point, and re
lated Issues rallied mora or less Irregularly
from lowest levels.
Shippings snd coppers afforded the basis
of much early promise, but the former
dronned back abruptly. Atlantlo Gulf made
an extreme reaction of 5 points on the failure
nf the directors to declare an expectea "ex
tra"! dividend. Marines rose brlnUly towards
the end, however, the preferred closing at
a net advance of 4 points. Bales aggregated
610,000 shares. '
The whirlwind wlndup of the Llbertf loen
campaign contributed to the ease of the
money market, but the nominal demand for
long time funds was no less a factor.
Bonds were again heavy on reduced deal-
Inn. but Liberty 3 Us held at 88.80 to 8 M.
Total bond sales, par value, amounted to
$5,375,000.
United States bonds, old Issues, were un
