New York Cotton Market.
New Tork. Oct 25. The cotton mar
ket today rinsed steady at a net decline of
27 to 46 points, late month (bowing the
further risk on outstanding contract. No
sign of hurry to sell could be discovered on
the part of farmers. At the same time, pit
traders seemed determined to await hedging
pressure before becoming aggressive on ths
bear side. Forecasts of wst weather acted
as an additional stimulus to the upheaval
of the market, as did reports that the
amount of soft and damaged corn was be
coming more and more of a serious factor.
Preslsetnt buying for houses with sastern
connections gavs firmness to oats.
Provision averaged generally higher, ow
ing to the 'corn bulge. Higher lard quota
tion at Liverpool and assertions that most
of th lard on hand has been sold for ship
ment tended to hold th advance.
