Ridder Solicits Loan. Mr. Ridder cune to him abont the time the European war began. Paven-. stedt said, and asked a loan of $20,000. ' Without Mr. Ridder't knowledge Pavenstedt went, to Dernburg and told him the situation. He said he told Dernburg the Ridders "have always, followed a very good course for the German interests here." "Then 1 asked him if he would put' up the money," Pavenstedt testified.
