This is the smallest number that has ever been known to come out for the team. There are not enough men to form a second squad with which to scrim mage. This was the main reason why Creighton showed sucn poor form In the game with Cotner, and is the first and most grievous of Tommy Mills' many woes. Despite difficulties Coach Mills Is giving his men hard workouts every day, and by next t riday when Creigh-' ton plays Peru, an entirely reor ganized, squad will start the game. Harmon, Lahey and Mulholland In the backfield seem to be a perfectly j matched trio avhen it comes to work ing toirethers, and the whole line Is1 strengthened with the shifting of Coyne to left tackle, and Campbell to left end.' Charley Payne -sustained an injury to his kneecap in the initial spasm last '. Saturday, and wil probably be out of . the game for the rest of the season. 1 This will be a serious loss, as Payne was a valuable man, ana was tne mainstay of his teammates on his side of the line. Mills says that fie has the material for a first-class eleven in the ew who daily toil up and down the field in j their moleskins, and he will indeed be a busy man in the development of it during the next two weeks.
