CHICAGO GRAIN AND PROVISIONS.
Bright Crop Outlook Led to Decline In Corel
"Export Pemsnds Strengthen Oats. '
Chicago, Sept 17 Optimism as to the crop
Outlook, despite temporary adversa weather
conditions, lea to declines today in tno corn
market and prloes closed weak, Ko to Ko
net lower, at $1.20 H to $1.20 H December
and $1.17 H to $1.17K May, Oats finlshsd
Ko off to two up and provisions vary from
16a setback to lie advance.
Frost, unless extreme, appeared to have
Host bower to terrorise the corn trade. Not
withstanding that soms frost wss reported
In number of placee throughout the west
a majority of dealera Inclined to the view
that most of the eorn In that section was
now far enough to be, benefited rather than
hurt by a moderate visitation. A forecast of
additional light frost for Iowa, Missouri and
Illinois tonight- received consequently but lit
tle attention. In the last half of ths day a
falling off In oountry offerings and n lull tn
profit taking holders led to a rally, but the
bulge eneonntered heavy fresh realising,
which oarrled ths market rapidly down
grade at the end of the session.
A revival of export demand gave relative
strength to oats. General rains tended also
to encoursgs ths bulls. '
Except for nearby deliveries of ribs, which
were under epeclal selling pressure, new
high-record quotations were general In the
provision market. Continued advances : In
the value of bogs stimulated much ot the
buying. As a rule, the offerings, Including
soms from foreign sources, were readily absorbed.
