Explosion of a bomb in sacks of nitrate being loaded on the Japenese passenger and freight steamer Seiyo Maru at Iqui cjue, Chili, killed two persons and in jured ten, it was reported on the ar rival of the vessel today. After the blast four other bombs were found. Members of the crur cairi a r.ormm lagent was suspected. lhe Kev. John L. Reeder of South Pasadena, Cal., and others told of the attempt to wreck the vessel.' Rey. Reeder said a German painter work ing near the pier where the Seiyo Maru was docked had been arrested following the explosion and that a box of dynamite and bombs had been found in his house. The steamer left while the Chilean authorities were investigating, he said. Those killed included two soldiers who were loading the nitrate onto a lighter which conveyed it to the ves sel, passengers said. Veteran Conductor v Meets With Death Table Rock, Neb., Sept 21. (Spe cial.) Word reached here last eve ning of the accidental death of Con ductor K. ECleavelan'd by being caught between two cars at Rulo, Neb. some thirty mills' east of here. He was a veteran conductor on the Burlington, having been in its em ploy for more than fifty years. At the time of his death he was con ductor on the stub train from Atch ison, Kan., to Rulo. Neb.. Mr. Cleave land lived in Table .Rock for many years. He is survived by three sons, who live in California, and two daugh ters, one living in Atchiso Kan., and the other at McDonald, Kan. . He was between 75 and 80 years of age.
