Chicago. Aug. 13. Chicago won its
ninth straight game today by defeat
ing St. Louis, 8 to 2. The locals
bunched hits off Davenport in the
sixth inning and forced him to retire.
They then continued the attack on
Sothoron. Faber was unsteady and
retired in the sixth inning in favor of
Williams, who had no trouble holding
the visitors safe.
Although Chicago won its game to
day they lost one-half a game in the
pennant race to Boston, who won a
double header from Philadelphia.
Chicago now leads by four and one
