different to say the least Compared with
yesterday prices shewed little quotable
change although the feeling was unmis
takably eaeler, and while prices are still

for both beef steers and cow stuff, the
market Is closing with the edge off, and an
easier feeling on all except, choke toppy

degree of activity for the latter part ot

the 1917 Crop.

Wheat prlcee suffered a sharp decline to
day, selling from 12c to 15o lower than
yesterday, aa a result ot the government's
price fixing committee which fixed the
baslo price of wheat at Omaha at 9215,
traders working toward this basis, but as
this prlee doe not become effective until to
morrow, sales ware made today at around
"0 above the basic price.
The cash corn market scored a sharp ad
vance, selling from 60 to lo above yes
terday's sales. Very few cars of corn were
reported in, only twelve cars being on tha
floor. Th. No. S yellow, which sold yes
terday at 31.93 and 31.92Vi. sold today at a
flat price of 12.00, while a couple car a ot
No. 1 yellow were sold, at the same price.
The No. 3 mixed sold at $1.67 today, while
one car of new yellow sold at 81.93. Noa.
1 and 4 yellow sold for 61 98, and one car
whkh graded No. f yellow, also brought ,
fl.88. -
Trading la. thla market wae quite slow,
but nearly all aaniplee were cleaned up.
The eats market was fairly active and
receipt of this cereal were thirty-five cars.
The No. 8 white sold at 64 HO 67c, the
bulk of these sales being made at 6640.
The etandard grade of eats sold at 66 He.
and price, on all other grades were quoted
mc to ln higher than the previous mar
kit day. The greater part of the sample
were disposed oft and few were carried .
over.
Sales of rye were mad. at. 31.70 and ft. 72
for the No. 1, and quotations on this cereal
were lo to lo higher.
Barley was firm, the No. 1 telling at
11.16 and 31.18, while the better grade of
No. 2 sold at 81.33. Receipt were five cars.
Clearances were: Wheat and flour equal
31.000 bushels; corn none; oats, 1.227,000
bushels.
Primary wheat reef Ipts were 740,060 bush
el and shipments 130,000 bushels, against
receipts of 1.686.000 buah.ls and shipment
of 1,466,000 bushels last year.
Primary corn receipts were 168.006 bush
els,, and shipments SS 5.000 bushels against
receipts ot 724.006 bushel and shipments ot
396.000 buahela last year.
Primary oali recetpt were ' 1,670.000
buahela and shipment . 1,253.600 bushels,
