to tbe color and the manner In which the
wife on hearing of thla convince blm of
hi duty. Miss 8teven as the wife In the
leading role, was superb, while It Is doubt

It Is reported that Alice Brady has been
signed by the Paramount company at 2,500
per week: Miss Brady's father occupied a
peculiar position In tbe matter. He Is at
the head of the World Film corporation and
they had been paying her $750 per week,
and he was loath to dispense with her
services. At the same time he cou!d not
consistently stand in the way of his daugh
ter bettering herself.
Dame Rumor says that there Is every
likelihood that Henry B. Walthall (if he hs
hot already done so) will sign a contract
with Paramount at a salary reported to be
12,000 per week .
