5 Links added another in the eighth.
Bayless walked and went to second on
Lober's grounder. He scored on
Schmandrs singe to center.
Omaha's only run came in the
fourth, when E. Smith leaned on one
of Gregory's slants, sending the ball
. over the right field fence.
' Second It t Win.
. The Rourkes copped the last game
of the series in the afternoon, when
they, trimmed the Links, 6 to 5.
"Long" Tom Blodgett, after defeat-

when, they annexed three runs after
two were gone. Lamb got i life on
JBurg'B error and Eiffert followed with
a single to right. 'Burg muffed the
throw in, allowing Lamb to score and
Eiffert to go to third. Blodgett poled
a double to center, scoring Eiffert.
Carlisle doubled to left-center, scor
ing Blodgett, but was caught trying
to stretch his hit into a triple.
Omaha Scores One.
Omaha came back with one score
on Shaw's triple and Bradley's out.
Omaha scored again in the fifth, when
with two down Cooney singled, Smith
walked and Krug sent a sizzler.down
third for a safety. v
. The Ducklings annexed two in the
sixth on singles by Bayless, Lober
and Schmandt and a, double steal.
Singles by Bradley and Schick and
Men's double netted Omaha two in
their half of the sixth. Omaha came
up from behind in the seventh and
grabbed the fray with Smith's single,
Krug's sacrifice bunt and Ben Shaw's
home run , through third. His hit
Lounded at Carlisle's dome and the
lattc cht-'i it to the fence. On the
throw in it took a bad bounce just
before it got to Smith and Shaw
reached home with the winning tally.
Hal B-.kaw subbed for 'Shag''
Thompson in center and delivered.tne
goods in great shape, He covered
everything possible lit his territory
and got a little single to help things
along. Hu Welding of Schmandt's
liner in the eighth when Bayless was
on second probably saved the day for
the champs.

Although the league faced almost
unprecedented weather conditions
early in th season, President Tear

lack of interest in the game, owing to
the war, contributed largely to the
league's failure. ,
"1 have found that base ball has no

"The people have lost interest in base
