Murder Case.
"Detective NVilkerson is a well in
formed man," said Miss Minnie Moore
of Omaha, sister of Joe Moore, vic
tim of the Villisca ax murder.

run a special train to Omaha from
Iowa July 7 to afford Iowa citizens
an opportunity to hear him talk on
the evidence in the murder case.

gomery iounty,' Miss Moore con
tinued. He has a following of the
best persons in the county and those
who are financially able to back him
for whatever sum he may need to
prosecute the case.

he is talking about.
"Will I hear him? No, I'm sorry
to say it is to be on a Saturday, and
that is my busy day, so it will be im
possible for me to get away. I
should like very much to hear him."
Wilkerson Hearing July 9.

J. N. Wilkerson, detective, arrested
Saturday on a conspiracy charge, will
be given a preliminary hearing at
Corning July 9. Wilkerson was ar
raigned at Corning Saturday and was
released on bonds. The attorney gen
eral's office will be represented at the
hearing. Wilkerson is charged with
conspiring with B. (Brick) Boiler,
William (Squint) Walker and Henry
(Red) Nave of Atlantic to break and
enter the store of . t, Jones at Vil
lisca. Wilkerson is said to have
wanted to secure papers in the Jones
vault to use as evidence in the prose
cution of the Villisca ax murder in
vestigation.

Hogs The racking call was very urgent
this morning and the liberal supply found
& ready outlet at prices that were generally
a big 10a higher. Shippers wer fairly eager
buyers of the good light and light butcher
sluff. Their purchases showed a great deal
of unevenness, some of them being no mor
than strong, while other looked sharply
higher.
Right at the outset packer wars able
tn buy some hog that were not over 6 ft 10c
higher, but before the bulk of the offerings
started to move big 10c higher prices were
obtainable, and towards the close plenty of
hogs sold that were right at 15c higher
late rounds being active at the beat prices
of the day. From all angles the market
was as satisfactory as any In several weeks
Packer were, as noted, eager buyers, and
movement which started early was lively
all through, th pens being practically
cleared by t:80Sr
The general run of price today wa
the highest since a week ago, and the
trade averaged close to a quarter higher
than at the low tlms last Thursday. Bulk

a sprinkling ot th best hogs of all weights

Sheep Yesterday's price her were so
much higher than at any other point that
when packers rsme out bidding lower prices
sellers recognised the fact that buyers were
entitled to nonceaslons and as a result bulk
of the lamb offerings crossed , the scales

prices were generally half doller lower
than yesterday.
A good percentage of the run was made
up of single decks of mixed natives. About
the only straight bunch of lambs on offer
was another cut of the Idahos which went
at 117.00 yesterday. Today they war bought
at 816.55, with the same sort as yesterday, a
flat 45c reduction. Natives showed similar
declines, several bunches moving at 116.00
16.25 and one package reaching 116.30.
Packer did not consider any of today'
natives as good a the one that brought
$17.10 Monday.
On yearlings and old sheep declines of
25c or more were quotable, though, as was
the case yesterday, there was little here
on which comparison could be based. The
few package of ewe that were offered
sold around $1.00 and under, though some
thing good Is quoted up to 11.25. Good fed
western yearling were not available. Year
ling and 2-year-old wether on th (rasa
order were bought at $10.76,
In th last ten day young lambs have
dropped 12.00 and are getting down to
wards the low time again. Old sheep and
range yearlings are off In the neighbor
hood of $1.50, while fed western yearling
lambs have slumped faster than anything
else and are now $3.00 or more lower than
a week and a half ago.
