Out of Four. Otto Men fell a victim to the sharpshooting of the heavy-hitting Sioux yesterday before i ladies' day attendance of 400 and a handful of cash customers. The score was 4 to I. The Sioux took picks on Otto in the second stanza. They had him groggy, but he came back strong until the ninth when they landed on him again and this time Otto left the field a sorry wreck. Fifteen hits for the hated opposition are in the list of ' casualties. - Watson started the second inning, which alone was enough to lick the Rourkes, . with a single. Connolly flew out, but Morse came through with a safety to center after which Mueller lambasted a triple which got away from Shag Thompson and Wat : ion and Morse tallied. : Holly, Rader, Watson and Connolly ganged four hits in a row in the ninth and counted two runs, i Men was hit hard at all times, but ', escaped damage except in the second and ninth. In the third three hits failed to net the Sioux a tally. - Omaha scored but one run off Harry Gasper. In the seventh Merx beat out on infield hit and Shag Thompson sent him home with a double to center. The rest of the time the Rourkes were duck Soup for the battlescarred photographer-hurlcr. A. The task of teaching forty boys, all under IS years of age, the art of swifhming within a week is the feat accomplished by Ed Burdick, physical director of the local Young Men's Christian association. "I teach the boys first that they can float when they hold their breath in the water and the rest is easy," said Mr. Burdick, who teaches the over hand stroke exclusively. "This is only the beginning. We sent a card to every boy in the public schools requesting them to sign their names if they wished to learn how to swim, and we believe the res. onse will be very generous." A boy is not considered a swimmer until he tan navigate the full length of fbe "Y" tank, which is sixty feet ' long. In order to stimulate interest among the boys, Burdick intends to present buttons to the young men when they are capable of taking care of them selves in the water. A course of life saving stunts for members of the "Y" boys' department, which comprises nine hard tests, will also be taught during the summer. Every boy who successfully passes these nine tests will be given a diploma, signifying that he is a graduate lifesaver. Classes for men of all ages will be taught by Burdick, beginning this week. Private lessons to men who find it impossible to attend during the men's class hour also will be given.
