Omaha, the Metropolis of Nebraska, Is Fast Becoming a Great Manuj
For years Omaha has been the home of some
of the leading wholesale distributing houses in
this country. 1
It is said that such wholesale distributors as
Paxton & Gallagher Co., McCord-Brady Co., M.
E. Smith Dry Goods Co., and other companies of
this city each distribute a volume of approximate
ly $10,000,000 to $25,000,000, annually of goods
that are manufactured in other cities.
When the volume of goods distributed from
any city begins to equal an amount that will in
fluence capital to start to manufacture that ar
ticle, it is then that the prosperity of the city in
which these goods are manufactured is upon a
firm and solid foundation.
In many lines Omaha is reaching this point,
which is proof that our present prosperity is on
a firm and solid toundation.
Omaha for years has been a big distributing
center for macaroni products, but it has only been
in recent years that this line has been manufac
tured to any great extent in this city.
In addition to the Omaha Macaroni Com
pany, Omaha also has the Skinner Manufactur-
