Nine Straight Victories
on the Road.
With nine straight victories hang
ing at their belts Fa Rourke's 1917
de luxe athletes returned to Omaha
yesterday from a most prosperous
road trip. Today they open a three
game aeries with the truculent Sioux
on the home lot,
The victorious march of the Rourkes
on the road was nothing short of
wonderful. Getting away to a bad
start at Joplin they suddenly regain
ed their true form and by capturing
nine straight games, return home with
a road record of eleven victories and
six defeata. And a fifty-fifty break is
a sood record on the road, too.
The Rourkes started their road trip
of seventeen games at Joplin. They
dropped the first three and left Joplin
with four defeats to at single victory
staring them in the lace, lhey did
better at St. Joseph by winning three
out of five. That made their average
when they opened m Denver four vie
tories and six defeats. Denver was
lambasted for four straight games and
Pa's boys followed up this rally by
taking three in a row from Wichita.
Omaha is home for onlv three
games, today, Sunday and Monday.
Then they beat it for the road again.

Consul Modern Woodmen
Chicago, III., June 22. The Modern
Woodmen of America, 5,000 atrong,
paraded the loop yesterday for two
hours while thousands looked on. .
The Woodmen, uniformed in many
colors and many styles, passed
through Michigan boulevard, Ran
dolph, La Salle, Washington and
States streets, and through Jackson
boulevard back to Michigan, boule
vard, where they were reviewed by
the executive council and the officers
of the order.
