Joplin, Mo., June 8. (Special Tele gram.) Roy Sanders, a big right hander, was too much for the Omahani in the first game of the sec ond offensive against the Miners here, and Toplin won. 7 to 0. The game was called at the end of the eighth because of a threatening wina ana rainstorm, lecil J hompson did not puzzle the Miners very much and the MissouWans pounded his of ferings for fifteen hits and their eighth consecutive viclory, crowding Omaha out of third place. ! Krug Hit in Head. Marty Krug was tuf in the head by a pitched ball in the first inning of the game and war carried from the eld. Tonight he was around, however, and expects to get back in the game to morrow. A makeshift lineup followed his injury today. The Miners began early, scoring one in the first on Cochran's long triple to center and Devore's infietd out. About 1,000 fans hooted Gaston when he called Devore out, and it meant a run, for Metz followed with a triple down the third base line. Monroe's triple and Lindamore's jingle to left counted' another in the fourth. ' Ragged fielding helped the home club in the ninth. Lamb singled and went to second on Thompson's wild throw. Cochran doubled and Lamb was out at the plate, but Brottem dropped Cooney's perfect relay. De yore sacrificed. Horan's fly to Schick cored Cochran. Four singles and a double gave the ; Miners three more runs in the eighth. Sander's wildness filled the bases with , one out in the first innings, but he ' settled down and fanned Shaw and caused Schick tt ground to Lamb. After that only one Rourke got is far as second.
