The rash market followed the strong ad
vance In futures today and ruled from I
to 14o higher, establishing new record for
high-priced wheat.
The demand was excellent on tha advance
and as the receipts wera extremely light
the traders had no difficulty in disposing
of their offerings.
No. I hard wheat brought from 13.20 to
n il; No. I hard sold up to 13.21, while
No. 4 hard brough. from 11.07 to 3.0.
Mixed wheat sold a trifle under the hard
winter price. No. t mixed being quoted at
63.10. while the No. I grade ruled around
I3.1ROS.1I.
The demand for corn showed a big Im
provement today and a large part of the
ofterlnge were disposed of at an early hour
at prices ruling from lc to 6c higher.
White corn continued to sell at premium
prices, the commercial grades of this va
riety bringing from 41.01 to 11-83 4. while
yellow oo rn sold around 61.67 to tl.68i4, and
the mixed from SI. 67 to 61.60.
Oats were strong at an mi vance of HO
tttc, but tha trade In this article waa
rather limited on account of light offer
ings.
Prices on No. t white oats were quoted
at 72c; No. 3 white brought 71c and No.
4 white sold generally at 70Hc
Rye was strong at a nominal advance and
barley was firm, with prices quoted nomi
nally unchanged.
Clearances were: Wheat and flour, equal
i 2Z6.000 bushels: corn. 146,000 bushels:
oats, 300,000 bunhel.
Primary wheat receipts were 883,000
bushels and shipments 832,000' bushels,
against receipts of 762.000 hushels and ship
ments of 721,000 bushels last year.
Primary corn 'receipts were 700,000 bush-'
els and shipments 463,000 bushels, against
receipts of 009,0(10 bushel and shipments
of 030,00!) bushels last year.

Profit-taking sales caused a temporary
halt In the advance of wheat and then a
reaction amounting to 4 cents In some

slon. Then came another swing upward

4 cents and an uncertain finish. No other

cent session, slackening, however, toward

scope, attaining wider proportions In the
second hour. Rail fell away more easily
than industrials, suggesting a resumption
of last week's liquidation in those stocks.

and Baltimore Ohio, while New Haven re
