It is George Barbier's ''Turandot,"
numbered fourteen on the catalogue.
The Absence of this costly painting
was no' discovered until an art lover
approached Mrs. George Prim to ask
where the picture hung. Examina
tion of all the paintinga in the collec
tion was in vain and search by Mrs.
Ward Burgess, chairman of the exhi
bition committee, failed to uncover it.
"We are going to hunt for it," the
women said. "There is one consola
tion if we don't find it. The pictures
are insured." '

For the sake of convenience seed
potatoes are offered by the city at th
office of the inspector of weights and
measures, at the Eighteenth street
entrance of 1he basement. The price
of seed spuds to bona fide gardeners
Is $2.80 per bushel, V0 cents less than
the prevailing market retail price..
The city has bought 400 bushels of
seed potatoes and is arranging for
more. Twenty sacks were disposed of
Wednesday morning in, a short time.
The city's teed supply includes
most of the ordinary garden varieties.
