N. V. Russell, a masseur, 4509
South Nineteenth, is in the South
Side hospital, suffering from what
may prove a fractured skull, received
in a fight with Archie Railey and
Charles White In a bath house at 5012
South Twenty-fifth street.
The police say Russell went to the
bath house and started a fight with
Kailey and knocked him down three
times. White furnished Railey with
bricks, with which the two pounded
Kussell s head, indicting numerous
cuts and possibly fracturing the top of
Russell was taken to the hospital
Drs. Shanahan and Losey attending
him, say that his wounds may prove
Railer and White were arraigned,
charged with assault and battery, but
were later released on cash bail All
three are masseurs.
' Provisions Art Stolen.
Two tons of provisions were stolen
from the grocery store of W. A. Bar
ry, 41U1 South lwenty-lourth street
early yesterday morning. The thieves
gained entrance by breaking in the
back door and carrying away 2,500
pounds of sugar, 1,200 pounds of
flour, 200 pounds of rice, 100 pounds
ot Deans, sixty-hve pounds ot butter.
Patrolman Gorlaski discovered the
door open at 3 o clock.

tian Eisele, German artist of inter
national reputation, died in a
rooming house in Lincoln today.
He was 75 yean old. His death if
attributed to worry over the war
and over an estate tied up because
of the war. - j ,
Eisele waa on his wiy from the
western coast to hit home in Ger
many and was taken ill at Lincoln,
where he had friends.
