The local trade In caah wheat was rather
elow today on account of the weak condi
tion of the market, and although the corn
antf oate markets were Inclined to be a
trill bearleh. there waa an actlvo trade In
these markotl and theee cereala were In
good demand at the prevailing price. The
tup of today's market on wheat was 11.13 V
for io. 1 hard; No. S hard brought II. R2.
and the No. 1 ranged In price from 1.7 to
11.11.
Wheat prices generally were quoted from
Ho to 2c lower; corn declined from Kc to
lo and oats wera quoted from li to He
lower.
. White corn continued to be In good de
mand at premium prices, and today this
variety sold from He to 1c above the yel
low and from lc to lHe above the mixed
variety No. white corn selling at
to It to. while the yellow iold at (Site and
the mixed at Htto and If.
In the nnts market the No. 3 and No.
whitagradee wera the heaviest sellers, the
No. I whits being quoted at Sc and 66c,
and the No. 4 whits at lotto to eoc.
Hys was In good demand at firm prices
and barley was active at unchanged to lc
higher. m

to 1,444,000 bu.; corn, 115,000 bu.; oats,
36.000 bu.

Omaha Futures.
The wheat market was easier today as a
result of Imnroved trafflo conditions. The
local market, however, was rather alow.
1 A Broomhall report from Argentina ahowa
tho weather In that district la unsettled,
with rains In th south, and the corn crop
shows a marked Improvement.
The local oats market was bearish. In
sympsthy with wheat, and declined (4c on
the May, while the July option was quoted
nominally unchanged.'

moderate selling today. Initial price wera

quoted at 740. Forecasts also Indicated a

period of nearly 160,000,000 foreign gold.

In the final hour, steel and the shipping
leading the more active shares and reduc
ing soma losses of normal proportions. Total
