Long Jail Sentence for
Trying to Pass Bad Check
W. G. Weaver, 1914 California
street, and 1. G. Nugent, 3240 Evans
street, were sentenced to ninety days
each in the county jail Tuesday by
Police Judge Foster on charges of
vagrancy. Weaver was arrested by
L. T. Fmn, Brandeis house detective,
and Nugent was picked up by De
tectives Brinkman and Unger, in con
nection with an attempt made by the
pair to cash a worthless check. In
view of the fact that both men's
families are in destitute circum
stances, it was not seen fit to prose
cute them on the check charges.
