.'Ueneral conditions wen pretty much re
versed this morning, and an upturn was
noted all along the Una. Supplies were heavy
at nearly all point, but on ths strength of
a tig provision sdvanea moat markets closed
active and stronger yesterday, and the out
look for today was decidedly bullish. With
early everything against them, buyers mads
concessions fairly early, and dealrable bogs,
especially the weightier grades, started mov
ing oarly at SO 10c higher prloea.
Considering ths breadth of the supply,
the market for light hogs proved to be
fairly satisfactory la most cases, but It was
almost ss uneven as yeeterday'a, and com
paring the two dan was almost an Impossi
bility, A great many aalas wars fully steady
with the earlier trade. and the genenl
market for lights waa as much belter than
yesterday's close that then waa no compari

gsnonlly speaking prices won ooneldenbly
belter than yesterday and monment waa a
good deal livelier.
Heavy hogs were, as noted, 1910c up.
and. the average promised to figure thst
much better. Bulk of all ths sales was
mads at It 101 70. and tops reached 11.10.
Heavy bogo an In no Cass mors than
le below laat week'a close, and In more than
one leetance loday'a sales wen steady with
Saturday. Llghta an, of coons, still quite
a bit lower than last week.

The wheat market was rattier ouiet todav.
with opening prices fractionally lower on
December wheat and about, unchanged for
Hay. Tna foreign cables on wheat and
corn were, higher, but the exports from this
market during the lest few days have been
very light and the dullness today was, in
a measure, caused by the lack of export
orders. , -
Corn opened steady, but seemed Inclined
to follow the early decline In wheat. The
December article closed a fraction lower,
while the May waa practically unchanged.
Oats are generally regarded as relatively
cheap, but on account of the enormous
stocks on hand the trade is Inclined to be
lieve that It will take a good strong demand
to force an advance In this market. Oats
opened steady, but declined later In sym-
pamy wun me oiner mantel.

CHICAGO GRAIN AND PROVIMIONS.
Chicago, Nor. 21. Seeming lack of urgent
export' buying of wheat In the United States
tended today to offset the bullish foreign
advices. Largely as a result, the market
closed unsettled, to c up. aa compared
with ye l e may's flnltth. Corn Rhowed a
loss of to jc net, and oats of to c.
in provisions the outcome varied from 15
decline to a rise of 40 cents.
Although at first wheat showed consider
able strength, the market later fluctuated
over a range of 2 cents, and In the end
was well toward the low point of the day.
Highest prices were made under the In
fluence of a falling off In the European
visible supply total, and because of contin
ued bullish crop advices from Argentine
with predictions of a decrease In Arvpnt.no
shipments. Reports that famine, extntlng
In parts Of Russia, tended further for m

bullish reports from aboard were causing
ny immeaiaia consequences to dealers In
the United States. No high record quota
tions at Winnipeg, ascribed to government
buying, failed to Impress traders.
Final estimate put export sales In the
United States at only 800,000 bushels, al
though exporters were said to have bought
future deliveries here quiet freely at times. :
On the other hand, holders unloaded op- '
tlons heavily on the bulges tn the market, j
and then as a rule the offerings appeared
difficult to absorb.
Unverified assertions of a good export de
strength to corn. At the last prices gave
way with wheat, and in consequence of pros-
pectlve lessened winter feeding of live siock.
