accountant, who served at ona time as Deputy Stata Bank Examiner. The expenditures
are for fifteen months, from January 1, 118, to April 1. 1914, and were compiled from
the records of the Sheriff, Auditor and Clerks of the District and County Courts of Ward
County, North Dakota: they include the expenses for Justice, Court Fees, Constable Fees,
Witness Fees, District and County Court expenses. Including jurors' feea and mileage,
witness, bailiffs', stenographers' fees, meals for jurors, sheriff's mileage and expenses,
expenses of transcripts, cost of boarding prisoners and all incidental expenses actually
incurred In the trial and disposition of each ease aa indicated above.
If Prohibition costs a community of 6,000 souls $10,919.21 in fifteen months to wage a hope
less fight against boot-leggers and blind-pigs, what would Omaha pay with a population of
170,000? WHY $316,456.09!
