Crank Tells Why
He is Republican
"That party is best which best
serves the people, best clothes them
and best shelters them. That is why

Men shouted, clapped their hands,
threw their caps and hats in the air
at noon as W. J. L. Crank of Denver
made this statement before a noonday
audience of 000 men near the Armour
packing plant in the South Side.
"This country will be pitiably help
less after the war." said the speaker,
"unless that abominable Underwood
tariff is repcale'l. Where will your
good jobs be when the products of
Europe flood our markets;"
