This bank began business August 1, 1916, and at the
close of its twentieth day of business it had deposits over
$212,000.00. If this rate of increase in deposits were
maintained for one hundred days, the bank would have
over one million dollars. We wish to thank the people of
Omaha who have thus contributed to our success at the
beginning of our banking career. We do not desire or ex
pect to have the largest bank in Omaha, but it is our am
bition, to have the best bank in this city.
We transact a general banking business and solicit
.the accounts of individuals, corporations, firms and banks.
We write drafts payable anywhere in the United States
and also draw foreign exchange, payable in any country
in the world.
We pay interest upon time deposits and also upon
savings accounts, and believe that we pay as high a rate of
interest upon these items as any reputable financial insti
tution can pay with safety. This bank operates under the
Depositors Guaranty Law of the State of Nebraska, which
means that it must be conducted along the lines of sound
business principles. We are thankful and appreciate the
business we have been favored with since our organiza
tion and we have the time and desire to do more. We be-
lieve that our customers will get a personal service at the '
American State Bank that is unexcelled by any other bank- J
ing institution in this city. , ,' , ,
This is the only bank in Omaha that is absolutely on
the level, as you can walk from the sidewalk directly into
our office without going up a flight of stairs. If you fol- .
low the line of the least resistance we believe you will .
come to us. This is a personal invitation for you to do so.
