Chlcs.ro. Beot. 26. Substantial enlarge ment shown In the world's available stock of wheat led to a setback today In wheat oricea here. The market closed heavy ftO 1c net lower, with December at 91.64 and May. at 91-64. , Corn finished unchanged to c down, oats off 99c nt P'ovl elons at a decline of 129 60c. Notwithstanding that wheat developed fresh strength the first half of the session the market later was unable to resist the weight of offerings which were precipitated by assertions that the world supply was the largeet ever known at1 this season. - The available stock total had increased 1,723,000 bushels as compared with laet week and was nearly 89,000,00" bushels more than was the case a year ago. in tne selling tna roi- lowed the announcement of these figures, shorts as well as Ion us took a free hand. leaving the market In the end at nearly the lowest prices of the day. Leading unicago interests were said to have been compared in the short selling, whereas Wall street concerns were reported as having released to a notable extent on holdings. ' Previous to the setback In wheat prices the market was bulliahly affected ny news that British flour millers had resumed work and that the Argentine drouth was becom ing more serious. Buying also was tempo rarily encouraged owing to reports of ex cessive rains Interfering with threshers In Canada. All such factors however, seemed to be very near lost sight of when subse quently the bears attained control. Corn prices were governed largely by the action of wheat. Reports that the drouth In Argentina was causing delay to planting failed to have any lasting effect on the mar ket here. Oats, like wheat, were bearlshly Influ enced by reports of Increasing stocks. At times speculative sales were heavy. Provisions lacked support Packers un loaded to a, moderate degree, and buying was checked aa a result of declining quota tions on hogs.
