during the last week, and one or two
more quit this week.
The game should prove interesting
to local ball fans, and it is expected a
big crowd will witness the event.

except in the seventh today, but by
reckless base-running lost their
chances to Score, Brooklyn making
it three out of four in the series by
winning, 3 to 1. Meyers threw out
four runners who tried to steal sec
ond. Brooklyn scored in the fourth
on Wheat's single, Cutshaw's sacri
fice and Mowrey's single.
In the sixth, with Merkle on first,
Wheat drove the ball over the right
field wall for a homer, sewing up the
game. Mctvechnie, who made three
hits, scored the Red's only run on

Uncle of Congressman
Reavis Dies in Honolulu
Falls City, Neb., Sept. 19. (Spe
cial Telegram.) John W. Dorring
ton of Yuma, Aril., died Tuesday
morning in Honolulu, where he had
gone to rest and try to regain his
hearth. He was accompanied by his
sister, Mrs. Isham Reavis of this city,
mother of Congressman Reavis. and
0 was staying at the residence of a
niece there.
After arriving at the islands, it was
soon discovered that his trouble was
cancer. Relatives will go from Falls
Citys to California to meet the body
and bring it to Nebraska for burial.
