to only 4,111 hsd, as against 11,911 for the
same period last week. The light run, as
a matter of course, is due to mo rauroaa
strike sear at th elose of laat week that
cut off western shipment.

price that were strong to as much a 10c

value of wheat resulted today chiefly from
seeming confirmation of the worst predic
tions of losses regarding the spring crop
yield of 1914. Prices closed unsettled ,but
44 06'4c net higher, with December at
$1.62401.61 and May at $1.6314 01.64. Corn
gained 102Sc and oats lc to lttmc. In
provisions the finish ranged from 7 Vic de
cline to a rise of 15c.
Virtually no wheat waa offered at the
outsst, and It waa necessary to btd the
market up tMo before the sales began to
assume much Importance. Meanwhile the
demand waa broadening. Oneauthorlty de
clared that the total yield of wheat this
sesson In the United States waa 26.000,000
