Great Ranch to Be Cut
Up and Sold in Tracts
A party of thirty-five goes out over
the Union Pacific tonight, enroute to
Ogallala, Keith county, where tomor
row the 17 ranch of 7,086 acres, will
be sold out in tracts of 160 acres.
The 17 ranch was originally one of
the holdings of the Ware Land and
Cattle company. ' Thirty years ago
this company was one cf the greatest
growers and shippers of range cattle
in the west. The range extended from
south of the Union Pacific to a point
nearly 100 miles north and was about
the same extent, east and west.

Corner Near City Hall
An automobile collision at the cor
ner of Eighteenth and Farnam streets
about one o'clock Tuesday afternoon
damaged the automobiles of W.- J.
Peterson, 3412 Wright street, and Dr.
T. J. McCarthy, Woodmen of the
World building. Dr. McCarthy was
driving -south on Eighteenth street
and his car skidded and ran into Mr.
Peterson's light truck. Both machines
were damaged somewhat, but the
drivers were not injured.
Suit for Thirty Thousand
Filed Against Car Company
Thirty thousand dollars damages is
asked from the street railway com
pany in a suit filed by Joseph Schraid
bauer. He alleges that a street car
struck his wagon, causing an aggra
vated fracture of the right hip, lacera
tions of the cheek and face and shock
