SHEEP Receipts of eheep continue to
arop 011, seen aeye run being a llttls small
er than the preceding one. and today's sup
ply waa the emalleet of the week to dat
being estlmatsd at twenty-one ears, or 1,000
head. Four dayB' receipts foot up 11.144
head, aa against 21,211 last week, 14,111 two
weeks ago ana 04.ISS last year.
Supplies wsren't overly large at any point
today. Just decent runa ahowlng up all
around, but packera started, out with the
intention of breaking prlcee another quar
ter, complaining that the "rotten" condition
of the eaetern mutton trade makes It ab-
aolutely necessary for them to lower live
costs. Sellers decided that taking off lio
every day was gstting to be too much ef a
good thing and concluded to not make any
such a concession without at least putting
up a Btlff fight, and the result was that
up to a late hour In the forenoon trade waa
at an absolute standstill, not a lamb having
changed bands.
Along towards noon, when sellers flnslly
began to out loose, packera had their way
so far aa the price was .concerned, salee
being Just about a quarter lower. One
nine-car band sold at 11.71, while five car
the best hsr went at lt.lt, the top.
noon one string waa atlll unsold, packers
having bid as high as 11.71 on them, with
the seller aaklng a dime more.
There were really not enough old sheep
here to make a market, a eouple of email
packages of ewe and a few range yearllnga
making up ths supply. So far aa a market
can be quoted on a famine supply, today's
valuee were 1091loi lower, a very good
kind of ewes bringing I7.H07.II.
As compared with a week ago today,
when good range lamba brought 110.71,
prices are does to 11.00 per hundred lower.
Yearlings broks a quarter thla week, and
owes, while holding eteedy at first half
of the week, looked easier today.
Feeder trade yestsrday waa a reatnrelesB
affair. Prices hsld Just about stsady. bulk
of the offerings bringing tt.ll. Today's
trads was a repetition of previous daya ot
the week, packera not getting their drove,
aorted uo in time to give feeder buyero a
chance to make their soleetlona before mid
day. . .

The leper colony consisted of thir
