Leper Colony in Chinese Province Exterminated (Correspondence of The Associated. Prett I Canton, China, July 15. Julius A. Kempf, a member of the American Reformed Presbyterian Church Mis- sion at Tak Hing, on the West river, in Shantung province, has advised the American consulate here of the com olete extermination of a leeer colons near that mission by recent revolu tionary soldiers, and sought the as sistance of the consul in preventing s recurrence of such barbsrity. The leper colony consisted of thir teen unfortunates who made their home on a houseboat on the West river near a temple in which the sol diers were quartered. Without warn. ing the soldiers fired upon the house, boat, killing- ten of the lenera. Two members of the colony jumped into the river and started for the opposite shore, but it is not known whether they escaped death. One leper es caped into the hills. The soldiers then burned the houseboat - Mr. Kempf and his associates had been assisting the leper colony for some time. suDDlvinsr the sufferers with food and endeavoring to better tneir condition, , Extensive Alterations Throughout the Store Com pelling Readjustment of Nearly All Stocks Means ' r s ' " ft - a 1 era , - "V , -, . . v , Dig rnce .savings to buyers In Uur Great H AU armvmiv ml. -ii'c-ii.w , Ll .two w !XOw00uX.LA$ STREETS ta-y lm irons' rSM I :SU rxv - v rr atssv .
