DAY'S SESSION IS FEVERISH
Nw Tork, July Id. An extreme decline
of I polnta in stock and a rise tn call
loans to $ per cent, a new high rata for
day-to-dar actions slnro the raopainv of
the ptock exchange In December, 111, were
the outatandlng features of today's nervous
and feverish session.
The braak tn Alcohol from 138 H to 10TH
wa almost steady, but made gerater prog
ress In the final hour, when the stock
senmed almost without support. There was
no official news to account for the severe
reversal, but goaslp ascribed the liquidation
to cancellation of war orders and In regard
to discussion over questions of policy.
In view of the onormous disbursements
.wnnocted with the .mfd-year payments of
Interest and dividends together with heavy
Income tax payments, the per cent money
pate, which applied mainly to belated bor
rowers, was not considered unusual. Some
Intimation of the advance was contained in
last Saturday's returns of local clearing
houM institutions, whoso sctual reserves dis
closed a rhrlnkage of almost $36,000,000,
bringing the excess reserves down to $63.

A majority of the other war stocka were

whose production of acids caused It to be
ranked among the munitions, rather than
metals, also suffered in the further liquida
tion of shares of that description, and
American Coal Products fell 7tt points.

additional pre&turt and United States Steal
receded a point on publication ot the Junt
tonnage statement, showing the first de

Representative rails, particularly Reading

the arrival of further large quantities of.
foreign-owned -American securities from

Earl Caddock and
Plestina May Meet
j Night of the Eaces
An effort is being made by the
Omaha Auto Speedway company to
sign Earl Caddock, the Anita, la.,
wrestler, and Marin Plestina of
Omaha for a finish match in Omaha
Saturday night, following the races
at the speedway. Plestina has agreed
to the match, and negotiations with
Caddock have been started.
The articles of agreement the
speedway company is asking the
wrestlers to sign is that in case of j.
draw, such as occurred when Stecher
and Lewis tangled, or any other un
satisfactory ending, that the receipts
be turned over to charity. This pre
caution, it is believed, would elimi
nate all chance of a farce such as oc
curred July 4.
Caddock has never appeared in
Omaha, and local fans have been
anxious to see him. As Earl and
Plestina have been at the "outs" for
something like six months, it is be
lieved a match between these men
would be a good one and would bring
the wrestling game back into the
good graces of the Omaha fans.

We have in course of
preparation a booklet on the
ANACONDA COPPER
MINING COMPANY in
which we iihall describe at
some length the new and
interesting- developments
connected with the wide
application of electric power
to the company's operationa,
the improvement in pro
cesses, and the installation
of new metallurgical meth
ods which have brought
about a New Anaconda.
As thtf booklet discusses
these subjects quite thoi-
oughly, illustrates them
with many photographs, and
describes their bearing on
Anaconda's future outlook,
it will necessarily be rather
elaborate, and the number
to be printed will be limited
to the number inquired for.
In order to determine the
number of. these booklets
desired, we are requesting
those who wish to obtain
copies to writs us to that
effect
