came to this conclusion everything moved
in short order, 10 o'clock seeing the entire
supply on the way to the scales. If any
thing sorting waa even lighter than on
Wednesday and some of the buyers wanted
to call the market stronger oa this account,
but quality waa again good and quoting
values fully steady suited most traders. As
has been the caee ever since the latter part
of last week, bulk of the lambs sold at
110.60, one or two Iota not of the best taking
a little less.
- Continued scarcity of supplies featured ths
trads In the old sheep and yearling dWlslon
and what stuff was here waa readily bought
on a good steady basis. The fact la that
during the laat few day little good atuff
haa been here and the fair kinds, which
make up the bulk of the offerings, have been
consistently strong, so that while no ad
vance haa been quotable on any one day
prices are really a little higher than they
were toward the tall end, of lest week. A
fairly good sort of range yearlings sold to
day at 17.16, with ewes that were none too
desirable at ,76.
The feeder trade was another blank, sort
Ing being very light and packers taking
nearly all the odd lot of culls. The fact
la that so far there have been only one
or two daye when supplies were large
enough to give buyers any chance to show
what they oould do and aa a result most
orders that are In buyers' hands have been
kept under ro-er. Hence there Is no real
way of judging how broad the outlet will
be, but one thing aeeme certain, that the
demand for feeding stock Is again going o
exceed the supply by a wide margin.

NEW YORK STOCKS
Several New High Records
' Established in Course of
Day's Trading.
READING SHARES IN LEAD
New Tork. July Several new high
records were established In the course of
today's moderate trading, bat these were
scored by stocks which exercised only pass
ing Influence on the Hat aa a whole. Senti
ment was araln favorably affected by the
latst aepects In the country's external re
lations, aa well aa varloua domestic devel
opments, Including1 additional May state
ments of earnings, which disclosed enor
mous galne over the corresponding period
of the previous year.
Reading waa the outstanding feature,
leading the market both In activity and
eitent of gain, although the latter waa
largely effaced In the general realising
movement of the final hour. There also was
further Inquiry for Canadian Pacific and
allied iKsueSe- together with New Tork Cen
tral subsidiaries and coalers.
The recent strength of New Tork, Chi
cago A St. Louis common and preferred
waa explained after the close of the mar-
kket, when announcement was made of a
change of control to Cleveland intereata.
Metlcane were Inclined to advance, to
gether with motors, but munitions were
variable when not under pressure. Tne ac
tivity and etrength of United States In
dustrial Alcohol, American and Continental
Cane and several of the fertiliser lasues
failed to stimulate tnterest to more than a
mild degree. General Motors tell CO points
to 600 at the close.
Inspiration, which made an extreme gain
of 114 to the new high price of 6J, was
the only metal stock to manifest more than
ordinary activity. Zinc Issues denoted fur
ther liquidation at declines of lttOl points,
todays' quotations being the lowest of the
year.
' sugars contributed the other new rec
ords, American Beet advancing 2S to
with a gala of m to 63 for Cuban Cane.
Marine preferred wee euojeci io late soil
ing, but United Fruit retained much of Its
substantial gain.
Total sales of stocks amounted to eeo.eoe
shares.
Bonds followed the course of the stock
market, shewing irregular net changes, but
Anglo-French fis were active at a fractional
advance. Total ealee. par value. f3.330.OO0.

"Sore at Wilson? I should say
they are sore at Wilson," said Ely E.
Druesedow of Houston, Tex., who is
in Omaha visiting for a few days with
his brother, Robert C. Druesedow.
Of course they're sore. Why not?
There "will never be any peace in
Mexico or on the border until Amer
ica goes in there and establishes a
government for them, as in Cuba and
Porto Rico. What's the use mon
keying around about it for several
years like we have done."
Mr. Druesedow says he has been
a democrat all his life, but will reg
ister as a republican at the first op
portunity. .
"And I know hundreds in the bor
der country who, will do the same
thing," he said. "I have seen hun
dreds of men who came out of Mex
icogood life-long democrats, driven
out of Mexico and their property
confiscated, who are awfully sick of
Wilson and who say they will vote
the republican ticket.
"It is a fact that those Mexicans
cannot govern themselves. They are
not fit for it Up jumps one who is
a little better bully than the rest and
he bullies the crowd for a while. Then
they all follow him. In a few greeks
along comes another who is a better
bully and they follow mm.
"I'd be willing to bet anything I
possess that if all foreign countries
could keep their hands off and say
nothing for one year, Mexicans would
overthrow Carranza within a year,
much as they shout for him at present."
