Even though he didn't allow manv ' hits Krause got himself into trouble tiy too niucn generosity in the matter oi permitting tree transportation to . first. It is bad business for a hurler to issue walks, as Ksrry learned to "hit sorrow yesterday. Sioux Get the Jump. ' The Braves got the jump on the Kourkelets in the opening stanza in a ' somewhat weird manner. Cooney, the first man up, trot a life when . Burg let his pop fly trickle through his pahAs. Gilmore's bunt popped over Krause's bean and Grover was safe at first, while Cooney dashed to second, Both runners advanced on Callahan's infield out, and then scored when Marty Krug neglected to field Metz' hard grounder. A walk to Cooney followed by hits by Gilmore and Callahan counted an other hostile tally in the third, and the run which won the game, was scored in the fifth on two successive walks, a sacrifice and Marshall's wild heave into center field. ' X Omaha managed to sneak lone tally over in the third. Joe Burg iingled, swiped second and made, his way i to the two. remaining stations on infield outs by Krause and Krug. Rally Ends Abruptly. The Rourkovipians essayed a rally in the eighth. They succeeded in arousing the spirits of the lady bugs present, but they weren't successful . in capturing the combat, which is far more important. ; After Forsythe went out, Kilduff made two bases when Watson muffed hia fly. Joe Burg delivered a double to center on which Petie chased home. Burg hopped ' to third on Krause's infield out, and crossed the rubber on Krug's single to right. The rally ended abruptly at this point when Earl Smith whiffed. Today Des Moines comes for a series of four games, with a double header carded for Sunday.
